Elections for local councillors throughout Wales are held on the first Thursday in May every four years.  Those eligible to be community councillors must be over 18 years of age and must have strong local connections e.g. a local government elector within the community, having been the owner or tenant of any land or other property or having worked largely or mainly within the community within the previous 12 months or having lived within, or within 3 miles, of the community.
